OK, this isn’t a Japanese recipe. Not.Sorry. People ask me for this lemon turmeric rice recipe every time I make it so I decided to just post it here. You’ll be glad I did!
This is similar to the Southern Indian lemon rice but simplified to exclude some of the harder ingredients to obtain. It’s refreshing, it’s crunchy, it’s so easy to make and can be a great side dish for seafood.
Basmati rice is what I recommend for this recipe. But if you do change it to another type of rice, you may need to adjust the cooking time by following the cooking instructions on the package instead of the 20 minutes as described below.
